Porn Star Stormy Daniels Makes Statement And Refuses To Pay Donald Trump $300,000

Stormy Daniels has taken to Twitter to respond to the Donald Trump lawsuit ruling.

Stormy Daniels has shared a statement to Twitter following her failed lawsuit against Donald Trump.

After Daniels lost her defamation lawsuit against Trump, the court ruled that she had to pay the ex-president nearly $300,000 in attorney's fees.

On Friday 18 March, the US Circuit Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit stated that Daniels had missed the 30-day deadline to appeal the legal fee decision, and as such still owes Trump the money.

She has now made her first statement since the news broke.

Taking to Twitter, Daniels said of the fee payment: "I will go to jail before I pay a penny."

The adult film star had been pursuing the lawsuit against Trump after she claimed to have had sex with him in 2006, as per the Independent.

Daniels alleged that Trump paid her to keep quiet when he ran for president, something he has strongly denied.

On Monday 21 March, following the decision, Trump issued a statement saying that he was 'pleased' with the result of the lawsuit and called it a 'purely political stunt'.

"I am pleased that my lawyers were able to bring it to a successful conclusion after the court fully rejected her appeal," he noted.

Trump continued: “As I have stated many times throughout the years, I never had an affair with Stormy Daniels, nor would I ever have wanted to."

The former president called the ruling a 'total and complete victory and vindication for, and of me'.

He added: "Now all I have to do is wait for all of the money she owes me" and that 'P.S. The Fake News probably won’t report this story!'"

News of the ruling comes after Daniels' former lawyer, Michael Avenatti, was convicted of stealing around $300,000 of her $800,000 advance for her 2018 book Full Disclosure, which details her alleged affair with Trump prior to his presidency.

Daniels had hired Avenatti as her lawyer, but their professional partnership soon ended when Daniels was said to have discovered Avenatti had kept some of her book money for himself.

Dainels said that she was 'ecstatic' with the verdict pertaining to Avenatti.

"A win is always great," she noted, before adding: "I'm aware I won't ever get my money back and worried that if it had gone the other way it would set a very scary precedent for people in the adult film industry."
