The Moment That Super Bowl Star Is Told His Wife Is In Labour Goes Viral

Van Jefferson had to make a quick getaway after the Los Angeles Rams won the Super Bowl

Los Angeles Rams star Van Jefferson was getting ready to celebrate his Super Bowl win when he received some amazing news: his wife was in labour.

On Sunday, February 13, the Rams emerged victorious over the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20, with Cooper Kupp's touchdown in the final minutes securing victory.

In keeping with the theatricality of the massive event, which sees actual fighter jets fly across the sky before kick-off, players, coaches and press take to the field upon victory as confetti falls from above, and somebody is eventually soaked in Gatorade. However, for Van Jefferson, he had to make a quick getaway.

Just as he was about to celebrate his win, the Rams receiver was informed in front of his children that his wife Samaria had gone into labour. 'Oh my gosh,' he exclaimed, before telling his children, 'Mommy's gonna have a baby,' when his kids keep asking why they need to leave so quickly.

In another clip, you can see Jefferson jogging out of the stadium and shaking a staff member's hand, while someone off-camera even gives him a clap.

Among the many viral moments during the Super Bowl, such as Professor X's return in the Doctor Strange 2 trailer or Eminem taking the knee during the historic halftime show, Jefferson hustling out of the stadium ranks among the most wholesome.

One user wrote, 'He didn't even hesitate! Just won the Super Bowl and when he found out he said 'we gotta go!!!!' What an awesome father!'

'As days go, they don't get much better,' another wrote. 'It's these moments that I admire most! Which should remind fans there is a lot more to players lives than just getting fantasy points out of them or winning bets! Win the Super Bowl and bring another life into this world! What an amazing moment in their lives!' a third tweeted.

Speaking to Today, Samaria said, 'I just knew I wanted to push through for as long as I could... I was wincing in pain... and watching Van.' However, when she was 'in tears' because of the pain, she knew she had to go, but she didn't want her husband to know, because she knew he'd leave the game.

'She's a champ. She didn't want to tell me. She wanted me to be focused on the game. I appreciate her doing that. I think if she had told me, I probably would've been freaking out,' he said.
