A teenager died when he twerked on top of a moving vehicle in an attempt to make his friends laugh.
Alex Desalis was out with friends on Saturday night when he got on top of one of their Jeeps in Dallas, Georgia, The Mirror reported.
Georgia State Patrol Troopers say he was on his hands and knees when he fell off the hood and was run over. Trooper John Daniel told WSB-TV:
Maybe he lost his footing and began to slide off the vehicle, striking the ground and then going under the Jeep.
The 16-year-old’s father, Kenneth Guthrie told WXIA-TV:
It wasn’t a car surfing adventure. It was him climbing up on his friend’s [vehicle] – the hood of the car, on all fours, more than likely being funny, trying to get a laugh by twerking.
The female friend who was driving the Jeep might face charges over the incident, but Alex’s parents have said they hope she doesn’t.
Michelle Guthrie said: “I don’t want probation. I don’t want her in jail. It was an accident. We feel more bad for the family – for what they’re going through as well.”
Alex was airlifted to hospital, but died of his injuries the next day.
