A terrorist threat aimed at Prince George has been uncovered by security services.
The post was made via messaging app Telegram warning: ‘Even the royal family will not be left alone.’
ISIS members added a picture of the young prince next to a picture of his school in Battersea, south London.
They wrote: ‘school starts early’, the Daily Star reports.
The threat also included the Arabic lyrics to a jihadi song which translates as:
When war comes with the melody of bullets, we descend on disbelief, desiring retaliation.
British spies are now keeping tabs on Telegram to stop the threat from being carried out.
It comes at a severely dangerous time for terrorist attacks in the UK.
Doctor Sarah Burnett-Moore had previously filmed herself walking through the corridors of Thomas’s Battersea school to prove how easy is was to go about your business undisturbed – just days before Prince George was enrolled.
She described the lack of security as ‘astonishing’, saying she ‘could have walked in with an IED and set it to go off.’
I live just 200 metres from the school and myself and lots of neighbours are worried about the security implicatons as the prince’s presence will make the area a target for attacks.
Barry Spielman, with internet surveillance group Sixgill, has been tracking Telegram since the beginning of 2017.
Our intelligence suggests that these threats are to be taken seriously. It’s an encrypted platform, making it a lot safer to communicate without being traced.
We used to just track the Dark Web and Deep Web but now we are tracking Telegram.
Now we are seeing explicit threats.
It seems that as ISIS continues to lose ground in Syria and Iraq it has stepped up its threats to hit the West.
This threat to Prince George is chilling.
