Bumping into Emma Watson seems to be every modern fanboy’s dream, but those who do might be left disappointed.
The Harry Potter star recently revealed she no longer takes photos with fans.
Explaining her decision to Vanity Fair, Watson says the decision is the ‘difference between being able to have a life and not’.
If someone takes a photograph of me and posts it, within two seconds they’ve created a marker of exactly where I am within ten metres. They can see what I’m wearing and who I’m with.
I just can’t give that tracking data … I’ll say, ‘I will sit here and answer every single Harry Potter fandom question you have but I just can’t do a picture.’
But don’t worry just yet, the 26-year-old says she assesses each case individually and will agree to a photo if she knows it will ‘make someone’s freakin’ week’. She also won’t turn down kids.
For the same reason, Emma Watson says that’s why she won’t speak about her boyfriend.
She told Vanity Fair:
I want to be consistent: I can’t talk about my boyfriend in an interview and then expect people not to take paparazzi pictures of me walking around outside my home. You can’t have it both ways.
Some fans may not be happy about Watson’s decision, but can you blame her? Privacy as a celebrity is hard to come by.
