The Queen isn’t known for much these days, except being regal and kind of cute in a grandmother-like way.
But, it turns out Queen Elizabeth II loves a bevvie so much she’s officially a binge drinker by government standards.
She’s not a fan of a pint, or any drink of the Wetherspoons variety, and definitely no Woo Woos or Rum Bongos.
Her tastes err on the more traditional side and are not all varied either.
Her tipples of choice begin with a gin and Dubonnet before lunch, a wine with lunch, followed by a glass of champagne and a dry martini in the evening.
A gin and Dubonnet before lunch?! She’s 91!
Her drinking habits apparently come to around six units a day, according to The Independent.
That makes her, officially, a binge drinker, as government guidelines state six units or more in a session qualifies you for the title.
Mind you, you’d need four drinks a day to deal with Prince Phillip wouldn’t you.
The info came from Margaret Rhodes, The Queen’s cousin.
She apparently also loves a boogie, and her favourite song is, obviously, Dancing Queen by ABBA.
It’s a little on the nose, but apparently she feels obliged to dance whenever she hears this song.
This was revealed by The Independent as one of their 60 facts to celebrate The Queen’s 60th anniversary as Head of State.
She also is apparently a massive fan of Ali G impressions, according to Prince William.
So there you have it folks, Queen Elizabeth II, the longest reigning monarch in British history, is a binge-drinking, ABBA-dancing, Ali G-loving grandmother to the nation.
This makes me like her a lot more now.
