This Is Why You Shouldn’t Park Your Car On A Frozen Lake
Park on the frozen lake they said, it’ll be fine they said. It wasn’t.
That was the reality that dawned on numerous vehicle owners who attended Winterfest on Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, this weekend.
Members of the public had gathered to eat, drink, be merry, take helicopter rides, and watch the U.S. National Snow Sculpting Competition, but due to unexpectedly warm weather and warm cars parked tightly together things went downhill quickly.

Some people got lucky and managed to drive their vehicles away safely after a few nervy moments.
According to the i100 up to 20 cars sank in to the icy waters.
The i100 also quoted one local reporter as describing events in the build up to the ice cracking as ‘a recipe for disaster’.
Well let’s just hope they all had insurance that covered their cars in the event that it was naively placed on a surface which is well known to change from a solid to a liquid.
