Police officer under investigation for spanking teen who was caught doing burnouts

The police officer issued the bizarre sanction at the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit.

Footage has emerged of a Michigan police officer spanking a teen who was caught doing an illegal burnout at the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit.

Fox 2 reported that a cop issued the bizarre sanction at the world's largest one-day automotive event.

While things went seemingly smoothly for the most part at the annual event, a group of teenagers came up along a stretch of the cruise called 'burnout row’.

Zack Walker decided to rev up his engine and partake in the activity in his 2005 Chevy Duramax pickup truck.

"I was telling most people no then this one guy got the peer pressure out of me and I'm like, 'Alright - I'll do a little one," Walker told Fox 2.

However, unfortunately for Walker, it all unfolded in front of a reserve deputy with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

He then asked the teen to step out of the vehicle before the officer proceeded to ask Walker if he was ‘showing off’ in front of his friends.

Big gulps.

"I thought he said 'Put your hands behind your back,' - So I put my hands behind my back and he goes, 'No, bend over...' and I'm like," he said.

Walker continued: "I grew up in a household where being spanked was what happened if you did something wrong.

"So I took it that way. I bent over and he spanked me and said 'Don't do burnouts again.'"

He added that it was an important lesson for him and if the officer was watching, he’d like to ‘thank him’.

Ah, isn’t this just such an After School Special ending?

The video is currently making the rounds on social media, leaving many in stitches.

One person wrote: “Old school. I like it. Picasso.”

Another said: “Honestly, this is more humbling than a ticket.”

A third shared: “He earned respect that day...with some friendly banter! That's all it takes. And he'll remember this day forever.”

While another said: "That may very possibly be the most astounding thing I have seen recently. WELL DONE!!"

But not everyone was too impressed.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said they had seen the clip and were currently reviewing the reserve deputy’s conduct.

Here's hoping for the cop's sake, the office shares the same sense of humor.

UNILAD has approached the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office for comment.
