It is finally here! The trailer for Tom Hardy’s Venom movie has just dropped and we can’t wait for the film’s release!

Details about the film have been pretty hush-hush until now as the trailer gives us our first proper look at Hardy as the famous antihero in director Ruben Fleischer’s deliciously violent take on the comic book creation.

Take a look here:

Yesterday a tweet from the official Venom movie account got our spidey senses tingling as they shared the first official poster for the film.

About as to the point as a poster can be, Venom’s haunting eyes stare into your soul as they stand-out against the black background.

Simply captioned ‘Tomorrow’, excitement built as eager fans awaited the trailer to hit the internet.

Thankfully the trailer has exceeded our expectations, unlike the first official photo that was released last month by IGN.

Seriously though, you tease us with a big reveal but what you give us is a disappointing snap of Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock complete with a bog-standard notebook!

How, erm, special!

The solo Venom film will not be connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, going under the helm of Sony Pictures instead.

With Carnage as the main villain, we’ve been promised it will be an R-rated orgy of blood, teeth and violence giving the wise-cracking Deadpool a run for his money.

Speaking to Screen Geek at New York Comic Con last year, Venom co-creator Todd McFarlane said:

It’ll be interesting. I’ve seen some movies of his where he can bring anger and a wide personality to it. To me, I think Tom Hardy’s going to be as good as whatever Venom looks like, we all know Tom’s going to act. He’s going to do a good job.

So now what’s Venom gonna’ look like? It’s an R-rated movie, how ‘R’ are they going to go? To me, that’s the question. Are they going to go a ‘little bit R’? Venom’s a monster to me, and to me – are they going to make him a monster or are they going to make him a man? Are they going to humanise him? That’s what we gotta’ find out.

The film boasts a superb casts that includes the likes of Woody Harrelson, Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate and Scott Haze.

Hardy will take on the lead role of Eddie Brock who a journalist, in the comics, who becomes bonded with an alien symbiote.

Together, they are Venom – an anti-hero that protects the innocent.

Venom is the first of Sony’s series of spin-off films based on characters from the Spider-Man universe.

The studio also has Silver and Black in the pipeline which centres on the female characters Silver Sable and Black Cat and is due for release in early 2019.

For now, Venom swings his way onto the big screen October 5.
