What would you do if you found someone sat in your assigned seat?
Most people would politely ask them to move, and this person did just that.
But the people in the wrong seats were offended that they were asked to move to the assigned seats they paid for, leaving the person (understandably) confused.
They detailed the experience on Reddit in a now-deleted post, and asked fellow social media users if they were in the wrong for wanting to sit in the seat they paid for.

On the Reddit post, Zealousideal-Host467 said: "When I was confused they said, 'Oh sorry [we're] in the wrong seats, well you can have our seats', which were a row behind, but I paid for and selected the seats I wanted for a reason."
While I'd have quickly moved and apologized, this couple continued to argue back.
“[They] made me feel stupid for asking and kept saying, ‘You must not fly much because this isn’t a big deal', and ‘We just got comfortable and you’re making us move',” the Redditor explained.
But people were on their side and hit out at the other passengers for being rude.

"They are wrong. They are trying to guilt you into switching. You are not wrong. You can get a flight attendant involved," one person penned.
Someone else reassured the Redditor: "If someone did accidentally sit in your seat they should be apologetic and friendly when corrected.
"You did nothing wrong. They were just trying to intentionally take your seat."
"It could have been your first flight in your life and they’d still be wrong f**king a**bags," another person fumed.

A different Redditor wrote: "If someone 'told' me they are switching with me, they would be gravely mistaken."

It's not uncommon for people to experience awkward passengers on their flight, and one person sparked a huge debate in recent weeks after she reclined her seat on a flight.
Some argued that people shouldn't do it as it's unfair on the person behind them, but others noted that you're allowed to do it.

A lawyer later weighed in on the matter, and took the side of the recliner.
Lawyer and political commentator Ian Corzine said: "Isn't it in the first amendment that you have a right to recline?
"No, actually that's in airplane rules and if you're sitting behind and have a problem with it then ask an attendant to reseat, otherwise, shut the hell up."
