There are so many 'picture-perfect' photos to be taken across the globe, particularly in the US where there are honestly countless.
These so-called Insta-famous locations have tourists in a chokehold as according to research conducted by Admiral Travel Insurance, a staggering 98% of millennials are influenced by images they see on social media when making upcoming travel plans.
However, things aren't always as they seem as some of these Insta-famous locations are often very different in-person as to how they are portrayed online.

A series of TikTok's from a group of travelers has exposed what America's ‘picture-perfect' Insta-famous places are actually like in real life.
First up is the popular Grand Canyon tourist attraction, which has countless beautiful snaps of it online.

Many head to the desert for that perfect picture to post to Instagram, with that reason alone being why so many millions visit the tourist hotspot every single year.
However, a TikTok video uploaded by the user @valaruuuu, paints a slightly different picture of the famous Horseshoe Bend in Arizona.
As the cameras pans, a huge influx of people can be seen on the on the bend - which is not exactly ideal for that Instagram photo, right?
Another popular tourist destination in the US is the Yellowstone National Park - a volcanic site bringing in many tourists every single year.
TikTok creator @travel.to.find.peace visited the park last summer and watched the Old Faithful geyser erupt.

The 'expectation' part of the video sees a close up of the natural fountain with no-one around - truly wonderful.
However, the camera then pulls away to a big group of people seen sat at a viewing platform with their cameras out struggling to get a good view.
Nothing like other people to ruin a picture perfect moment.
Next up on the most disappointing 'Instagram vs reality' list is Los Angeles, a tourist destination known for its glamour and sun all-year-round.

And while many are known for taking photos in front of the Hollywood sign and the Santa Monica pier, a video by TikTok creator and travel expert Sia has documented the reality of LA.
The traveler was shocked to see 'the amount of people living in tents and out of their cars.'
She added: "But what shocked me even more was how those living in LA are so used to this."

In the viral TikTok, Sia filmed herself walking through a neighbourhood of Los Angeles to find tent after tent with people living in them.
A real sad reality of Hollywood glamour.
