Turns Out President Obama Knows More About Game Of Thrones Than You

With the season six premiere just weeks away, many people are beside themselves with anticipation for the new Game of Thrones series – but one man may have already gotten his hands on an advanced copy.

Barack Obama.

Yes you heard right, according to showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the leader of the free world has been granted early access to the series, Techinsider reports.

During an interview at the Hollywood premiere of Game of Thrones, Denioff and Weiss were asked if they had any major ‘oh my god we totally made it’ moments while filming the popular HBO series.

Weiss said: “I think, for both of us, finding out the President wanted advanced copies of the episodes was an ‘aha’ moment. That was a very strange moment.”

Benioff added: “When the commander-in-chief says ‘I want to see advanced episodes,’ what are you gonna do?”

And actor Liam Cunnungham, who plays Ser Davos in GoT, has also spoken out about Obama’s unprecedented access.

In an interview with Vulture, Cunningham said: “Did you know he gets advance copies? He gets DVD copies before we do. And we’re in it!”

Though neither of the showrunners nor Cunningham specifically spoke about season six, we’re pretty sure the president would be more insistent than ever on getting his hands on the new series.

The most anticipated season yet will premiere on April 24 – and if you haven’t seen the trailer yet, you can watch it here.
