Creepy clown releases chilling 'message to media' after being spotted in UK town

Pop culture moments often come back to haunt us, but not like this.

Pop culture moments often come back to haunt us, but not usually like this.

Though we’d thought killer clowns were consigned to 2016, one has been stalking a sleepy Scottish town with a Pennywise-style balloon.

If that weren’t eerie enough, the creepy clown has just released a new message.

For those not familiar with the horrifying trend, it originally began seven years ago with the often-silent clowns appearing all over social media.

If that weren’t terrifying enough, they’d randomly appear in the UK and US to chase unsuspecting locals away.

Despite this beginning almost a decade ago, it seems one Scot can’t let go of his little red balloon and has been spooking residents in Skelmorlie, North Ayrshire.

The terror including clown has been spotted in Scotland.

The clown has even set up a Facebook page called Cole Deimos – which is a nod to the ancient Greek god, Deimos, of fear and terror.

Though he claims he ‘lives’ in the small village, the clown’s profile lists him as originally being ‘from Hell’ and his education as ‘Clown school’.

Not content with striking fear in the local residents, the eerie spectator has made a new video which is a ‘message to the media’.

Having tried to disguise his Scottish brogue, the clown seems rather pleased with the media interest and shares various articles about himself.

Just like all good villains, the clown has a message.

While we’d never like to stop someone from feeling confident, it seems this clown is getting too big for his boots as he hits back at social media comments.

Having been accused of being fame-hungry, he shared pics of various Facebook users and told viewers: “Do you think that I care?”

It’s then that the clown challenges them to an eerier game of cat and mouse, saying: “They’d have to catch me first anyway, and yes, that’s a dare.”

Proving he is a pretty impressive wordsmith, the rhymes continue as he wanders around the remote town.

“You called me killer clown, why don’t you leave the jokes to me?” he says with a Scottish twang, adding: “The only thing that’s dying is your credibility.”

Still dressed in the Pennywise-esq costume, he then reveals that all he wants to do is ‘play’ as the eerie video comes to an end.

Eager for others to join his game, he then invites others to: “Come and join in and learn to fear the Skelmorlie Clown.”

Whether it’s guerilla marketing or actual evil clown, we can’t be sure but we think we’ll give this a pass. After all, we’ve seen how IT ends.
