Ukraine's police service has claimed that a total of 203 attacks have been carried out by Russia so far.
Since President Vladimir Putin sent troops across the border this morning, February 24, planes and helicopters have been downed, a series of missile attacks have taken place, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine has been declared as a 'threat to the entire world'.
Ukraine's national police service has since stated that the number of attacks – as of just over halfway through the day – have already amassed to at least 203 separate incidents.
Fighting is reported as having escalated from just taking place at the border and is said to be occurring through almost the entire territory, Sky News reports.

While the eastern city of Sumy has seen fighting between Ukraine and Russian military, according to border guards, Kyiv's Hostomel airport is also now reportedly under attack, Ukraine's commander-in-chief has claimed.
However, Ukraine's deputy defence minister has claimed that some members of Russia's military have been taken prisoner in the eastern part of the country.
At this moment in time, it is unclear as to just how many casualties and fatalities there have been as a result of the missile attacks and military skirmishes.

However, a missile attack on Odessa has been reported as having seen at least 18 people dead.
The city of Brovary has also been reported as having seen at least six people killed.
The Ukrainian military claimed that in retaliation for the aerial assault, four Russian tanks were destroyed and 50 troops killed in Luhansk.
Sirens have been sounding across Ukraine's capital city of Kyviv in a bid to encourage residents to take shelter, the sound of which could reportedly be heard from the Polish town of Medyka, which acts as a border crossing between Poland and Ukraine.
Despite Putin's chilling warning to the West of 'great consequences' if it tries to interfere with Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the European Union has revealed its plans to impose the 'strongest, harshest' package of sanctions ever implemented onto Russia.

NATO has also declared its plans to strengthen its deployment in eastern Europe by sending out additional air, land and sea forces.
In response to the invasion, UK prime minister Boris Johnson has promised Ukrainians that the UK is 'on [their] side' and reassured Brits that the government 'will do everything to keep our country safe'.
