Police bodycam footage records UFO crash landing in a Las Vegas backyard

The eerie footage was captured in Las Vegas before police received a chilling call

Eerie bodycam footage released by the police themselves appears to show a UFO crash-landing into someone's backyard.

The mysterious footage was shared by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and took place amid a series of strange happenings in the area.

In the clip, a green ball of light can be seen traveling low in the sky before seemingly crashing to the ground.

According to 8 News, the object spotted in the sky was picked up on the bodycam footage at around 11:50pm local time on April 30, 2023, but its flash was seen as far as Utah and California.

Less than 40 minutes after the 'UFO' was spotted on the police bodycam, a man who lives around 80 miles from Area 51 called 911 to report a very bizarre sight.

A recording of the phone call shared by 8 News heard the man claim there were two unknown entities in his backyard - and they had apparently arrived shortly after he and his family spotted a similar object from the sky.

"There’s like an 8-foot person beside it and another one is inside us ... and it has big eyes and it’s looking at us - and it’s still there," the man told the police dispatch.

"In my backyard. I swear to God this is not a joke, this is actually - we’re terrified," he continued. "They’re very large. They’re like 8 foot, 9 feet, 10 foot.

"They look like aliens to us. Big eyes. They have big eyes. Like, I can’t explain it. And big mouth. They’re shiny eyes and they’re not human. They’re 100 percent not human."

The 911 dispatcher understandably seemed a little dubious of the report, but the recordings caught by the police bodycams shows that even the police were a little shaken and even confused by the whole affair.

Police conducted an extensive search of the area after receiving the 911 call, but no new information was uncovered at the time.

Sources close to the investigation told ABC 7 that law enforcement weren't treating the incident as a hoax, and police later returned to the scene to place cameras in the yard in the hope of catching any further unusual activity that might take place.

However, NASA’s planetary defense officer, Lindley Johnson, told Vice that the 'UFO' spotted in the bodycam footage was more likely a bright meteor than an alien craft.

That theory is backed by the fact the green object was recorded in the American Meteor Society’s fireball logs - though it doesn't explain the figures that the 911 caller allegedly saw in their backyard.
