New terrifying NYC attraction is giving people ‘shivers up their spines’

How far would you go to recreate an iconic photo?

How far would you go to recreate a famous photograph?

For some, they’d risk their lives.

There are an amazing number of attractions in NYC for the average tourist to visit, such as the Empire State Building or the Rockefeller Center.

But I bet you didn’t know that you could recreate this iconic moment, giving you an amazing view of Central Park.

For this dare-devil ride, you’ll be lifted 12 feet above the deck of the building and rotated 180 degrees so that you’re almost dangling off the side.

'Lunch Atop a Skyscraper' is one of the most well-known images of the 1900s in NYC, where Irish immigrants worked doing typical manual labor jobs.

Originally titled 'Builders of The City Enjoy Luncheon', you can see 11 workers sitting on a beam and enjoying a light bite while they are precariously teetering off the edge of the building they are working on.

Though, it was debated for years that the image was taken above Empire State Building, thanks to two Irish filmmakers, we now know that it was a publicity shot taken during the construction of the 69th floor of Rock Center's RCA Building (30 Rock).

This iconic 1930s photo made waves across America.

But good news, if you wanted to try it for yourself, you can!

All you need to do is book your tickets and soon you’ll be so high in the sky that people below will look like tiny specks as you dangle above.

Is that appealing to you?

When ABC News decided to share a clip of the attraction to TikTok, public opinion was divided over whether this was a once-in-a lifetime chance or something that those with poor impulse control should stay far away from.

One person wrote: “Like that one guy said ‘i’m not afraid of heights I’m afraid that I will jump’”.

Another was a little more worried about how much a ticket would be: “And that will be $300 ma’am”.

Someone else shared the above sentiment, stating that Rockefellers would charge a lot of cash for something like this: “& I wonder how much they charge for that?

Are you ready to take the plunge?

"Rockefellers probably [made] a fortune”.

But there were those that felt like they wouldn’t be safe, even though the rise includes safety measures such as seat belts attached.

One TikTok user wrote: “feels like I would panic and fall off.”

Another decided that they’d have to stay away from certain parts of the beam: “Sod being the one at the end as it spins round!”

Well, according to the Rockefeller website, general admissions costs at minimum $34 to have a 360-view of the city and VIP passes go up to $160. So the pricing isn’t bad at all.

It’s just…the risk of falling.
