When it comes to gun ranges, you can't afford to be lax with regards to safety.
For very obvious reasons, messing around with a loaded weapon will have very dire consequences.
Intentions don't matter all that much in these cases.
Two men found that out the hard way, whilst visiting a Texan gun range, after they were handed lifetime bans for mucking about.

What type of tomfoolery where these men up to?
Well, one pointed a gun at another whilst taking a selfie.
I'm no expert on guns, but even I know that would be a no-no.
For this, the two found themselves barred from the Top Gun Range in perpetuity.

Kyle Harrison, who manages the Houston range, told ABC News: "The former customer brought in his own weapon for him and his friend to shoot.
"They were given a safety brief and still broke range rules once they went out to shoot.
"After they were promptly removed from the range, we covered which rules they broke and then banned them for life from the range."

Everybody who comes into the range goes through a safety brief and are required to follow the rules.
According to Harrison, this incident was a first.

He said: "We have people who've broken [the] safety rule[s].
"I’ve never had anybody point a gun at their friend’s head before."
Video footage of the incident shows the moment one bloke points his unloaded gun at the other's head.
Security personnel are then swooping in to intervene and escort the men off the property.

Harrison wants this to be a warning for anybody else who might consider taking the mick: "We have zero tolerance for safety violations."
Sounds like he's not playing around.
When video footage made it to X, formerly known as Twitter, people were left stunned by the men's behaviour.
One shocked user wrote: "What’s WAS he thinking? Clearly he wants and they aren’t toys.... you have to respect them because that right there is how accidents happen.
"Thankfully the instructor seen what was playing out and stepped in to stopped it then kicked them out!"
Another remarked: "Well done. This dude should not be around guns."
"What was he trying to do?!", someone else asked.
Many declared that the video had put them off using Twitter for the rest of the day.
Which is fair.
Many speculated on what was going through the mind of the gun-man, but perhaps it's best we don't strain ourselves too much.
