Uber Eats driver breaks down how much she earns per delivery and people are surprised by the total

Karyna Diaz from Las Vegas described Uber Eats as the 'perfect side hustle for stay at home moms'

An Uber Eats driver has explained how much they make per order while driving for the app.

Karyna Diaz lives in Las Vegas, and explained that she works as an Uber Eats driver as a side hustle.

She does this on top of being a stay at home mom so that she can have a bit of extra cash coming in.

In a video posted to TikTok, she broke down exactly what she is paid per order she delivers, and how far each order is.

Uber Eats drivers find out how much they can get for a particular job when it pops up on their app, which includes the base pay and the tip.

They can then choose which jobs to take.

In a video posted to TikTok, Diaz said: "Come with me today to see how much money we can make doing Uber Eats orders.

"I already picked up my first order. This one's from Chick-fil-A. This one's $7 for only three miles…Just got my second order. This one's from The Bar. It's $8 for two miles away."

Karyna Diaz shared how much she earned in one day of delivering for Uber Eats.

She continued: "Just got another order. This one is from Egg Works. This is paying $10 for three miles… Just got an order from Einstein Bros. This one is $7 for two miles away.

"Just picked up a Taco Bell order. This one is $8 for two miles… 7/11 order. This one was $5 for just one mile."

In the end, she said that she had made $172 after working for seven hours in a 'rich area', as well as only accepting higher orders.

She also clarified that she had spent $25 on gas, meaning that after that expense it came to $147 for the seven hours.

People piled into the comments to share their thoughts on the video.

One pointed out that the figures here are not representative of every location, writing: "It’s most deff not a good side hustle.

"SAHM, I work about 5-8hrs and barely reach $40 in my area. Mind you my gas is $50."

Another said: "Such a good side hustle! I do this on my days off of work."

A third wrote: "The orders I get be like '$9 dollars , 12 miles'."

Information on Uber's website explains that drivers can be paid by a weekly bank transfer.

They can also take out an 'Uber Pro Card', effectively an Uber debit card which is attached to a checking account. If they choose this option then they can cash out payments for orders as they come in.
