A man has gone viral for his ‘classic Philly’ accent after he appeared on local news.
Despite the hard-hitting piece being a road collapsing, Peter McLaughlin seemed pretty unphased as he spoke about his neighbourhood.
Understandably, his nonchalant attitude and strong Philadelphian accent have helped McLaughlin become an internet sensation – with people unable to get enough of his local lilt.
It happened after the local man appeared on Fox 29, which was covering the partial collapse of the I-95 overpass.

Eager to chat to residents about the incident, the local TV news station approached McLaughlin – asking if he’d give an interview.
However, the heating and conditioning worker could not have estimated how the internet would have reacted to his laidback Philly drawl.
When asked about collapse, he told the network: “Traffic is gonna suck tomorrow and it’s gonna suck for while because it’s already taken them 20 years, just to redo that.”
With his intense emphasis on certain vowels, it’s understandable why McLaughlin has gone viral after the short interview hit the internet.
In fact, the clip has been doing the rounds on Twitter, with users hilariously reacting to the Philadelphian man.

“A classic Philly man on the street react”, joked one user, while another added: “this is the Most Philadelphia Man that they could have possibly found to comment on the story. excellent work.”
Meanwhile, a third wrote: “I can’t explain it but hearing this NE Philly guy explain the collapse on 95 is like chicken noodle soup for the soul.’
Others were similarly impressed by McLaughlin’s regional accent, with one tweet even joking that he deserved a ‘guest spot’ on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
While Danny DeVito hasn’t called for the heating worker, another career may have opened up for the internet’s new sensation.
Chatting with Fox 29 in a follow-up interview, McLaughlin to the host that he’d been helping at a friend’s valet service – leaving him so exhausted he could barely speak.

Having been up late parking cars for a wedding, he said that he sounded ‘like a stoner’ despite being ‘completely sober’.
“I was tired,” he confessed, “I had a late night, working late.”
The hard-working man then joked that he will be running for the unofficial mayor of Mayfield, the district he lives in.
Though tongue-in-cheek, McLaughlin has set up an Instagram account and had t-shirts made for his fictional ‘campaign’.
