In one of the most peculiar murder cases of recent times, a woman who strangled her boyfriend has given a very bizarre explanation for her actions.
Lindsay Haugen had spent September 15th drinking wine with her boyfriend as they travelled from Washington to North Dakota.
According to the Ravalli Republic, when they stopped outside of a Walmart in the city of Billings, Montana, Ms Haugen sat behind her boyfriend and began to choke him while blocking his mouth and nose.
Apparently Ms Haugen strangled her victim for as long as 20 minutes.
When the army veteran of 10 years was asked why she killed her boyfriend, she replied that she just wanted to know what it felt like to kill someone.
She added that her boyfriend had wanted to die and later told police that she had always wanted to try killing somebody with her bare hands, and that she’d seen her boyfriend’s death wish as the perfect opportunity.
Haugen pleaded guilty to murder last Monday and is expected to serve up to 65 years in prison.
She will be sentenced at a later date however her bail has been set at $400,000 (£287,000).
