Horrifying moment woman is dragged away by tiger after exiting her car in wildlife park

Family members rushed to save the woman after she was pulled to the ground

Shocking footage caught at a wildlife park in China shows the moment a woman was dragged away from her car by a Siberian tiger.

The incident took place at the Badaling Wildlife World in Beijing in 2016, when the woman was driving through the park with family members.

Warning: Distressing Footage:

Like many safari-style experiences, visitors to Badaling Wildlife World are permitted to drive their own cars around the park, but they are forbidden from getting out of the vehicle in certain enclosures.

The woman in the video, whose surname is Zhao, signed an agreement before entering the park which stated she would not exit her vehicle.

However, she later claimed to have believed the document was some kind of registration to enter the park, and that the ticket taker did not explain what she was signing.

As Zhao and her family toured the park, the woman said she began to feel carsick and decided to get out of the car.

Footage from the park shows her getting out of the car and walking around to the other side, where she stood by the open car door.

Zhao was visiting the park with family members.

She appeared to check whether she was holding up any other cars before quickly turning to look behind her, where one of the park's Siberian tigers leapt towards her.

Zhao moved towards the car but the tiger was too quick for her, and pulled her to the ground before dragging her out of view.

Zhao's family members quickly sprung into action, with the footage showing a man chasing the tiger before another woman, identified as Zhao's mother, jumped out of the car and ran to help.

Sadly, Zhao's mother was attacked and killed by another tiger as she tried to save her daughter.

Following the incident, the Yanqing district government confirmed an incident had taken place at the park and said an injured person, believed to be Zhao, was being treated.

Footage of the attack sparked mixed reactions online, with many viewers siding with the park and arguing the visitors had violated park rules.

Zhao later filed a lawsuit against the park, claiming she hadn't been fully informed of the park's dangers and that a nearby park official had failed to come to the rescue.

However, authorities in in Yanqing District published a report after the attack which stated it was not an 'industry security accident', meaning the park was not responsible.

Instead, the report stated the attack happened because those involved were not following the rules of the wildlife park.
