Cannibals describe what human meat tastes like

A bunch of cannibals have kindly tried out human meat and described it so you don't have to as well

Cannibals have revealed what the taste of human meat is actually like.

If you've ever wondered what human flesh tastes like, then first off, are you okay?

But thankfully, you don't need to turn into a cannibal to actually find out because some other cannibals have kindly decided to share their knowledge with the rest of the world.

Although, if we've learnt anything from Keeping Up With The Kardashians, it's important to note you don't actually have to kill another human to get a taste of human flesh.

Despite playing a prank on her family making them believe they'd eaten placenta during a family meal back in 2013, Kourtney Kardashian later went on to actually ingest her own placenta via supplements last year following the birth of her and husband Travis Barker's son, Rocky.

Either way, it's a pretty big decision to decide to taste part of a human, but what could you expect?

Well, in a 2007 TV interview German cannibal Armin Meiwes said the meat tastes 'like pork' but was 'a little bit more bitter' and 'stronger'.

Although, this was after Meiwes 'sautéed the steak of Bern with salt, pepper, garlic and nutmeg' and served it up with 'Princess croquettes, Brussels sprouts and a green pepper sauce,' on the side.

In his book Jungle Ways, explorer William Seabrook voices the meat actually tastes more like 'veal' than pork.

He describes: "It was like good, fully developed veal, not young, but not yet beef. It was very definitely like that, and it was not like any other meat I had ever tasted.

"It was so nearly like good, fully developed veal that I think no person with a palate of ordinary, normal sensitiveness could distinguish it from veal. It was mild, good meat with no other sharply defined or highly characteristic taste such as for instance, goat, high game, and pork have."

However, in writing a book titled Cannibalism, Bill Schutt tried some human meat out for himself and had a different experience with the taste.

In an interview with Scientific American, the author explained he went down to visit a couple living in Plano, Texas who prepared 'placentas in every number of different ways,' the wife eating her own and saying she 'felt better for it'.

"They asked me how I wanted it prepared - either Tex-Mex or osso bucco," Schutt continues. "Being half Italian, I went with placenta Italiana. A lot of people have claimed that it tastes like pork or veal, and everything tastes like chicken, I guess. To me, it didn’t taste like any of those."

Either way, it turned out to be a surprisingly tasty meal, Schutt resolving: "And I’ll tell you, I cleaned my plate. It’s something I’ll never forget."
