King Charles III has been diagnosed with a form of cancer, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.
The King, previously known as the Prince of Wales, took the reins after the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022.
However, the King has experienced ill health in recent weeks after being treated for an enlarged prostate just days ago.

The King was discharged from the London Clinic on 29 January after three nights receiving medical care at the hospital.
Charles underwent a corrective procedure for the benign condition and it had been reported that he could take up to a month off from public duties as he recuperates.
After leaving hospital, Buckingham Palace said in a statement: “The King was this afternoon discharged from hospital following planned medical treatment and has rescheduled forthcoming public engagements to allow for a period of private recuperation.

“His Majesty would like to thank the medical team and all those involved in supporting his hospital visit, and is grateful for all the kind messages he has received in recent days.”
Now, the Royal Family have provided a further update on the King's health by confirming he does have a form of cancer.
In a statement, the Palace said: "During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.
"His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.
"The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.

"His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer."
The UK Prime Minister has reacted to the news of the King's cancer diagnosis with a statement posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.
He penned: "Wishing His Majesty a full and speedy recovery.
“I have no doubt he’ll be back to full strength in no time and I know the whole country will be wishing him well.”
