When you think of a nine-month cruise around the world you might imagine a relaxing time.
But for some passengers on the Royal Caribbean Ultimate World Cruise, things have worked out very differently.
People on board have shared terrifying videos showing extensive flooding on the ship, called Serenade of the Seas.

The cruise departed from Miami in Florida on December 10, 2023, but ran into a storm on January 2, 2024.
Strong winds and heavy rain battered the vessel as it made its way towards Montevideo in Uruguay.
Rooms on the ship are said to cost from $53,000 to in excess of $105,000 for the entire 274-night-long journey visiting more than 60 countries.
Disgruntled passengers have shared videos of flooding in their rooms online following intense the downpour.

In fairness, when you're on a ship in the middle of the ocean water coming into your cabin is one of the last things you want to see.
Some parts of the cruise ship have experienced flooding, including the sun deck and on board gym.
Nadine Bowers is currently a passenger on the ship, and shared what it was like when the rainstorm hit.

In a video posted to TikTok she said: "Where my balcony was there's an overhang and the rain was coming in so heavy, it was hitting directly the window and coming down and it was all gathering in the rail... and then pouring over the top."
She added that the flooding in her room was not 'severe', but she moved rooms as the smell from the damp was becoming too much.
Nadine also put in some heaters to dry out the carpet in her room.
She said: "It's just very smelly. I don't know if you guys have been around wet carpet and blowers before but it blows up all the dust and everything.

"It was just too much for me, so they put me up very kindly in another room."
Another video montage shared by TikToker @accuweather shows water washing over the sundeck and into the gym.
It also cuts to a pile of soggy gym towels piled up in a bid to contain the water.
As per USA Today, a spokesperson for Royal Caribbean said the ship 'experienced heavy wind and rain'.

“One set of elevators and six rooms were impacted by some of the rain,” they added. “Our team on board is managing the minor cleanup and elevator repairs.”
