Six university students expelled after horrific group masturbation celebration

There are less NSFW ways to celebrate

Six students at a Brazilian university have been expelled after footage of them performing a very NSFW celebration went viral.

Santo Amaro University, São Paulo, has announced that six students are no longer studying with them after they celebrated the women's team winning a volleyball game.

The male students had been sitting on the sidelines with their pants around their ankles and were part of the university's futsal team, they'd been watching the women's volleyball team playing in a championship at São Camilo University.

When the team won, the half-naked men ran onto the court and appeared to perform a group masturbation celebration, touching their genitals much to the disgust of other spectators.

According to São Camilo University, this incident had taken place back in April but the footage of their celebration went viral in recent days and São Paulo University said in a statement that six unnamed students had since been expelled as a result.

The men had sat on the sidelines of the women's volleyball game with their pants down.

"Unisa, an institution with more than 55 years of history, vehemently repudiates this type of behavior, completely antagonistic to its history and values," the university announced in a statement.

The viral footage had such a wide reach that Brazilian President Lula was asked about it when he was in New York for a United Nations meeting.

He said: "A disgusting, unacceptable episode, the behavior of young people who are at the university, who intend to be doctors and take care of people.

"I vehemently repudiate what happened. It is unacceptable for future doctors to act with such disrespect for women and civility."

The viral video of the men also received a statement of condemnation from Brazil's Ministry of Women.

They said: "Breaking centuries of a misogynistic culture is a constant task that requires a careful look at all types of gender-based violence.

"Attitudes like that of medical students at Unisa can never be normalized - they must be combatted with the rigor of the law."

The São Paulo civil police have said they are investigating the incident.

The six students who had been expelled were medical students at the university, hence why the Brazilian president had described them as 'future doctors' and drawn attention to the possibility of them having others in their care in the future.

Elsewhere in the world of Brazilian justice, their supreme court recently ruled that homophobia could be punishable by up to five years in prison.
