Is there a better way to end a year than by looking back at, ranking, and compiling pretty much everything we did/said/watched? YouTube doesn’t think so.
The 10 most-viewed videogame trailers for 2016 is exactly what you’d expect it to be, highlighting the most viewed launch trailers for the year, as compiled by YouTube based on total number of views.
Oh, and this is for games that actually came out in 2016, which is why there’s no Zelda, Spider-Man, or The Last of Us Part 2.
Obviously Battlefield 1 takes top spot with 49M total views for its release trailer, but there are a few surprises on here – let’s take a look.
Battlefield 1: Reveal Trailer – 49,864,296 views
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare: Reveal Trailer – 35,930,951 views
Clash of Clans: Hog Rider – 32,332,845 views
Gears of War 4: Tomorrow – 17,091,816 views
Clash of Kings – 17,080,025 views
Overwatch: Dragons Animated Short – 14,059,394 views

No, I don’t know why Clash of Kings is on here either. I guess that’s just the way the world works these days.

After graduating from the University of Portsmouth in 2015 with a BA in Journalism & Media Studies (thanks for asking), he went on to do some freelance words for various places, including Kotaku, Den of Geek, and TheSixthAxis, before landing a full time gig at UNILAD in 2016.
