Politician Proposes ‘Joke’ Anti-Masturbation Law, People Completely Miss The Point

A Texan politician put forward a bill to fine men $100 for masturbating, branding it as an ‘act against an unborn child’.

Now, I thought the satirical nature of this bill and how it is trying to highlight how women have been affected by targeted healthcare legislation, namely relating to abortion was blatant.

Unsurprisingly, there are countless people who either couldn’t get their heads around the satire or their attention spans just couldn’t bring them past the headline.

Either way, it’s pretty entertaining watching them get so worked up and completely missing the point.

Jessica Farrar, a Democrat and member of the Texas House of Representatives, filed legislation called the ‘Man’s Right To Know Act’ – a satirical response to the information booklet ‘A Woman’s Right To Know’ which women are given to guilt trip them when terminating a pregnancy.

Many people have praised her incredible use of ‘putting the shoe on the other foot’ to illustrate a point about how women are treated in the healthcare system.

Ms Farrar told mysanantonio.com:

A lot of people find the bill funny. What’s not funny are the obstacles that Texas women face every day, that were placed there by legislatures making it very difficult for them to access healthcare.

There were however a few who didn’t get it and started criticising her for such an ‘insane’ idea…the layers of irony are hard to keep track of.

I think MarkieMark needs some education on what both Sharia Law is and irony.

All I have to say is they were quick to laugh at ‘idiot liberals’. Oh yeah, and ‘seamen’.

Yes it is unconstitutional isn’t it. So wrong when it’s men.

JohnnyforeignerforEU said it all really.

I suppose that when people miss the point, and act in outrage at the policy, it really makes her point more powerful and stark.

It would be insane for the American government to take away a man’s choice – just as it would be for a woman…
