Ever wondered why humans have tailbones or why we get goosebumps when we’re cold?
This video goes a long way to explaining things and basically it’s all down to evolution, reports Elite Daily.
This fascinating video posted by Vox shows how we can all see the marks of our own evolution through ‘vestigial characteristics’ – features that have been ‘left over’ from our ancestors that we no longer need for survival.
There are dozens of examples of vestigial traits. Some of them – like the tailbone – are physical, while others – like a baby’s instinct to tightly grasp his or her feet and hands when stimulated, are behavioural.
All of them are proof of the evolutionary process and show us the incredible journey mankind has gone on in the history of our existence.
If you’ve got any mates who are ‘non-believers’ this may not change their minds – but it will be fun to see them try and explain away the evidence.
