Snoop Dogg’s sensitive nose to pranks almost got in the way of his entire career.
When hip hop legend Dr. Dre called the rapper back in 1992, Snoop didn’t believe his ears and hung up on him!
Yes that’s right, the budding rapper hung up the phone on Dr. Dre inviting him to his studio to work together.

In The Defiant Ones, a four-part documentary series that tells the stories of Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre, Snoop explains how the NWA leader gave him his big break.
Recounting their first phone call, Snoop said:
I hung up, like: “N***a, this ain’t no motherfuckin’ Dr. Dre.
[Dre[Dre]led back and was like: “N***a, be at the studio, Monday”.
Finally Snoop realised he was actually speaking to the record producer and made his way to the studio, kicking off his career and 25 years of friendship between the pair.
In a clip of the HBO series, it shows Dre remembering when he heard Snoop at a house party and told his cousin ‘this is a diamond in the rough and we need to fucking polish it up’.
Imagine if Dre didn’t call back!
