Andy Murray Gives Hilarious Response To Why He Had To Leave The Court

Andy Murray isn’t usually known for having much of a sense of humour (or personality for that matter) but we saw flickers of his potential comic genius when he faced the media on Sunday.

The British No 1 was speaking to reporters following his Davis Cup win against Guido Pella and he was at his blunt best when he faced a question asking why he left the court for medical treatment during the tie.

He said:

I had to go off the court because the strapping had to be done very high up on my right leg and I needed to take my clothes off. The reason I had to go off is because I can’t get my nuts out on court. I mean, I can’t do that.

Well, that’s super awkward. But his fans loved his typical deadpan response:

The world No 2 suffered a thigh injury during the tie and need strapping to be reapplied, so he had to take off his shorts and obviously he didn’t want to expose himself in front of thousands of spectators.

Imagine if he had done? The Daily Mail would have had a fucking field day.

So the Scot made a very quick exit and was off court for eight minutes to receive treatment. Despite the injury, Andy Murray went on to win the match comfortably 6-3, 6-2, 6-3.

However, this wasn’t enough to help Great Britain to retain the Davis Cup, as they were knocked out in the semi-final after Murray’s compatriot Dan Evans lost to Leonardo Mayer, sending Argentina through to the final.
