Anthony Joshua Vs Tyson Fury Superfight Talks Have Begun

Talks have already begun between the camps of Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury for a superfight showdown.

It has been revealed sports promoter Eddie Hearn has been on the blower to Fury to set up the all-British bout, according to the world champion.

This comes off the back of AJ’s victory over Carlos Takam on Saturday, defending his IBF and WBA heavyweight titles with a tenth-round TKO.

Now he says his promoter has jumped on the phone to the Gypsy King to line up a battle with the former world champion.

Joshua told Sky Sports:

It’s Anthony Joshua versus the world right now, I have got to fight them all. Eddie is right, as a promoter it works well for him, it works well for me and I think it works well for people who want to watch me and Tyson Fury get it on.

I wish him the best of luck with what he’s going through because we need to see him back in the ring.

Eddie has been on the phone to Tyson, trying to make things happen and support his cause. This is a fight, down the line, that might happen.

He continued:

At the minute, the fighters who are closer on a championship level are the likes of Joseph Parker and Deontay Wilder.

When I put myself in line to become a champion, there come obligations with it.

If I have a voluntary, then I can fight with who my manager and promoter work with.

If not, I have to fulfil my mandatories or, if I fight whoever I want to fight, I would have to give up the belts to be and then I can be a free man to do what I want.

Yesterday, the British Boxing Board of Control urged Fury’s legal team to set a date before his UK Anti-Doping hearing can continue.

Fury is looking to get back into boxing despite having a drug suspension, and will need to be cleared by the BBBofC.

BBBofC chariman Robert Smith told Sky Sports:

It’s quite simple, Fury’s legal team need to agree a date. At the present time, as I am standing here now, it hasn’t been agreed.

We are ready to go. UKAD do all our anti-doping for us, they have an independent panel that is dealing with the case and we are trying to get a date finalised. But we are unable to do so because [Fury’s legal team] haven’t confirmed one.

We want Tyson Fury to come back fit and healthy, in the right circumstances. At present time, he has a few things going on, so he needs those things resolved.

He continued:

Once they’re resolved and he is a position to do so, we want to make sure he’s healthy.

There are a lot of stories out there about his health, physically and mentally, but the most important thing is him. Boxing comes second.

But if we are able to consider him boxing again, we want that to happen.

Please make this happen BBBofC! Who do you think would win?
