Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is considering a shock move for Manchester United’s Daley Blind, as he looks to strengthen his squad for next season.
Jose Mourinho is reportedly not convinced by the Dutchman – who could blame him – and will seek to find the former Ajax man a new club, with a move to London a possibility.
Blind has spent just two seasons at United, and has been unconvincing despite playing in nearly every position on the field.
Last season was spent mostly at centre back with Chris Smalling, but with Blind possessing the strength of a wet paper bag and the speed of a hungover snail, he never looked amazing.
As Mourinho has already moved to sign Eric Bailly, the centre back position looks gone and as Man United already have plenty of midfield options.
Luke Shaw is returning to fitness and will take the left back slot, so they are unlikely to need Blind.
Wenger apparently likes the look of him though, and considering he’s a decent passer of the ball without being particularly good at defending, he sounds like a good fit for the Gunners.
With Per Mertesacker considering his future, there could be a place alongside Laurent Koscielny at the heart of the Arsenal defence, which I’m sure would please the Frenchman no doubt.
If Blind does go, Mourinho’s definitely got one over on his old rival in our opinion.
