Reports are emerging from France that Chelsea have made an official bid for Edinson Cavani.
The Blues have initially offered £41 million for the Paris Saint Germain player, who has long been linked with a move to England.
Chelsea and Antonio Conte are in the market for another forward and have not made a secret of that this summer, with two bids already being submitted and rejected for Alvaro Morata.
They’ve also been linked with a £50 million move to bring Romelu Lukaku back to the club from Everton, after selling him for far, far less, and failing to put a buyback clause in his contract.
Diego Costa looks set to return to Atletico Madrid this summer, despite Conte saying otherwise, so a move for Cavani would make sense.
That being said, Chelsea do have an unfortunate habit of bringing in forwards for big money who tend to spectacularly flop.
Fernando Torres anyone?
