Not that he ever could, but Conor McGregor ensured he did not go unnoticed at the press conference ahead of UFC 205, turning up 30 minutes late and in one hell of an outfit.
The Notorious’ tardiness did not go down too well with opponent and lightweight champ Eddie Alavarez, and his attempt to snatch the 155-pounder’s strap.
Never one to miss an opportunity to add to hype McGregor also reacted angrily to aggression from Alvarez, having to be dragged from the stage before throwing a chair.

On his return the Dubliner took the time to straighten out his fur, and although it may have initially appeared as a brash statement it is now believed to actually have been donned as a touching tribute.
As highlighted by Chamatkar Sandhu, the outfit was a replica of that worn by Joe Frazier before his Madison Square Garden fight with Muhammad Ali.

This Saturday’s event will be the first UFC event to be held in NYC since MMA was legalised this year, and McGregor clearly wants to savour every moment of the build up as he bids to make history.
Should he defeat Alvarez the Irishman will become the first fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two separate divisions – how long he would be allowed to do so remains to be seen though.
The fur was an intriguing tribute however, given Frazier lost that 1974 rematch, and also considering the world lost ‘The Greatest’ Ali only this year.
So the countdown is almost complete and MSG is finally set to gain its first taste of UFC action.
It promises to be an awesome evening of action!
