Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have both survived their first face down but the verbal sparring continues.
On their promotional tour of American in the lead up to the fight of the century, emotions are running high in their bizarrely homo-erotic display of show-boating, with McGregor getting off to a slow start at the Staples Center in LA.
But nothing has irked the Irish MMA champ quite as much as the moment Money Mayweather draped himself in the tricolour of his home country.
Conor quickly defended his country’s honour, by poking fun at the very thing Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather has over any other athlete and is known worldwide for: His finances.
Picking up the satchel Mayweather had bought on stage in Toronto, McGregor peered inside and announced:
You do something with that flag I’ll fuck you up… That’s it? That’s it? There’s about $5,000 in here? Fuck me. Just know, you do something with that flag you ain’t getting this bag or this money back and I’ll fuck you up on stage.
McGregor spent a blistering six minutes on the mic – which he bought to the stage himself he was so goddamn prepared – adding: “To all the little, puny boxing pundits, you’re fucking crazy if you think this guy has a chance. His head is too little!”
Nothing of Mayweather was safe, with Conor even claiming the American didn’t need a schoolboy’s satchel because he can’t read. As McGregor himself attested to, he ‘kicked his ass today’.

It seems Floyd has fuelled the fire we all expected from McGregor in the first round face down.
There’s nothing like a little patriotism to get the blood flowing and fists flying.
