Cristiano Ronaldo is set to receive a 20 million euro payoff after being dropped from Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film.
The Real Madrid player was set to star in The Manipulator, but after the inspiration behind the film expressed his unhappiness over the footballer’s inclusion, he has been axed.
Alessandro Proto, an Italian millionaire who inspired the 50 Shades of Grey books, was less than impressed when hearing the current Ballon d’Or holder was going to star in his film, and made that very clear to Scorsese.
That led to Ronaldo being dropped, and predictably, the forward didn’t take the snub well. At all.
Ronaldo is a great player, but that doesn’t mean he is the king of the world.
I don’t want him in a film about my life. Martin Scorsese is in agreement with me. Cristiano Ronaldo is not going to be in the film.
I am sorry if he doesn’t feel valued, but in life you win some and you lose some. If I really have to give him €20million, I will give it to him with my own hands.
Luckily for Ronaldo, he’s still one of the best players in the world, has made a whole heap of cash from being dropped, and has his own film coming out anyway.
