If you know your football, you’ll know that Celtic famously lifted the European Cup in Lisbon back in 1967.
They were the first British team to conquer Europe, and all but one of the 15-man squad were born within 10 miles of Celtic Park (the other was born just 30 miles away).
The Scottish giants beat Inter Milan 2-1 at the Estadio Nacional, and the ‘Lisbon Lions’ became a huge part of Celtic’s history.
To mark the 50 year anniversary of the triumph, Celtic’s main sponsors, Magners, are giving fans the chance to play on the hallowed Celtic Park turf as they recreate the Lisbon Lions team.
All fans have to do to be in with a chance of winning is share a surname with one of the Lions squad. The winners will then be a part of the team that plays on the Celtic Park pitch, as a kind of modern day Lions team.
So, if your surname is either; Simpson, Clark, McNeill, Gemmell, Craig, Murdoch, Auld, Lennox, Johnstone, Wallace or Chalmers, you’re in with a shot. Just enter on Facebook or Instagram and hope you’re picked! The competition ends tomorrow (19th May) at midday so be quick!
Also, Magners are donating £10 from the first 1,967 special edition packs sold to the Magners employability project in conjunction with Celtic FC foundation. That’s a donation of almost £20,000!
