The FA are considering putting a bid to host the 2030 World Cup in England.

The grandest sports tournament in the world hasn’t been held in England since 1966, and you know what happened last time they hosted a World Cup. Something about West Ham winning the World Cup.

The last time they put a bid to host the footballing spectacle was for this year’s World Cup, where they lost out to Russia – with some calling into question FIFA’s voting process.

It’s as if they’re are implying football’s world governing body is corrupt. A corrupt and dishonest FIFA? It’s almost unheard of.

BBC Sport reports the FA’s latest bid is being considered after greater transparency around the vote for the 2026 World Cup which was won by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The last major football tournament held in England was Euro 96 and it seems the FA are keen to build off of the new lease of life brought back into the men’s national team. This comes after their amazing run took them all the way to the semi-finals in Russia this summer.
