Undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, Anthony Joshua, is known for his incredible humility despite his professional boxing status.
The 27-year-old still lives in a council flat with his mum, treated his competitor Wladimir Klitschko with respect, and celebrated with nothing but a well-earned lie in, reports the Daily Mirror.
After the epic bout which saw Klitschko take Joshua passed round seven for the first time before the Londoner got the 41-year-old with a brutal uppercut.
The exciting match saw both boxers floored, but in the end AJ finished the Ukrainian off in round 11, with the ref having to step in to end the bout.
Joshua was in high spirits after winning in front of 90,000 fans in Wembley, but instead of hitting London town to celebrate, he went to sleep.
When the new unified WBA, IBF, and IBO heavyweight was asked how he would celebrate, he said:
With a lie in until midday.
Then I will catch up with all my family. Normally after a fight I like to go away on holiday, but this time, all I want to do is go round to my family’s houses and catch up with them.
AJ’s tough training regime has had him based in Sheffield from Monday to Friday, so he is keen to go home and spend some quality time with his family.
He’ll have a couple of months off, but the Brit’s promoter Eddie Hearn is keen to having him fighting again in October/November.
