Jose Mourinho’s full scale overhaul of Manchester United is in full swing.
Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have all signed for the Red Devils this summer, but Jose wants to add another midfielder to his squad before the transfer window slams shut.
And according to reports in L’Equipe, Mourinho is already talking as if the transfer of Paul Pogba is done and dusted, despite United and Juventus still being locked in talks over the 23-year-old.
A world record fee is expected for the man who left Old Trafford for nothing in 2012 – one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s biggest cock ups.
Ed Woodward has been negotiating a deal for the Frenchman for some time, as he tries to lure one more big name to United before they kick off their Premier League campaign against Bournemouth on August 14.
Pogba is currently on holiday in America, after helping his club side to another Serie A title, before being part of the France side that finished runners up in Euro 2016.
Once he returns, the deal can be signed and Pogba could become the fourth big signing at Old Trafford this summer – and the third represented by super agent Mino Raiola.
Mino Raiola also represents Mkhitaryan and Ibrahimovic, so talks about Pogba have been ongoing for most of the summer.
Ed Woodward has built up a good working relationship with Raiola – which isn’t easy to do, as he’s basically the agent version of Zlatan – and Mourinho is planning for life with Pogba at his disposal.
Looks like United are going to be strong this season…
