Jose Mourinho isn’t the most popular man in west London right now.
After being sacked late last year, the former Chelsea manager effectively gave his old employers the ultimate two fingers by taking over at Manchester United, and he isn’t done just quite yet.
Mourinho is in the market for a central midfielder, and the latest name linked with a move to Old Trafford is none other than Cesc Fabregas.
The Spaniard moved to Stamford Bridge two seasons ago for £27m, but may be deemed surplus to requirements by new Blues boss Antonio Conte.
Conte is overhauling a squad of his own, and given his preference for a 3-5-2 formation, he wants to give his side a more industrious look.
They’re already closing in on the signing of N’Golo Kante, and the former Italy boss is also keen on Radja Nainggolan, Joao Mario and Andre Gomes.
If any of those moves materialise, Fabregas will find it difficult to get into the starting XI – opening up a potential move to the North West.
Fabregas still has a good relationship with Mourinho from his time at the Bridge, and has no problem pissing fans off – just ask any Arsenal supporter.
The 29-year-old had a poor season last year, (although HE wasn’t quite as invisible as Eden Hazard) as Chelsea dropped close to the relegation zone before Mourinho was given the boot by Roman Abramovich.
But Jose has always been a fan of the former Barcelona man, and could continue his quest to anger every Chelsea fan in existence by bringing him to Manchester.
