PSG Star Sentenced To Two Months In Prison

PSG defender Serge Aurier has been sentenced to two months in prison for assaulting a police officer.

The 23-year-old has been charged with the offence that dates back to May, where he argued with an officer before allegedly elbowing him in the throat.

Aurier has been handed a suspended sentence, so it’s unlikely to mean that the Ivory Coast international will spend any time behind bars for the incident.

It’s the latest episode in a turbulent career for Aurier – he was banned for three games by UEFA in 2015 for calling referee Bjorn Kuipers a ‘dirty son of a bitch’, and also called PSG manager Laurent Blanc a ‘faggot’ in a Periscope interview with his former teammate last season, days before his team played Chelsea in the Champions League.

It also caps off a terrible few weeks for Aurier, who has been sent off and scored an own goal in his last two PSG appearances.

Aurier is one of the brightest talents in French football, but these kinds of incidents are threatening to derail a promising career.

Looks like it’s time to start growing up.
