Ronda Rousey has had a career of ups and downs to say the least, she’s had a long unbeaten run, followed by a couple of devastating defeats.

She’s even starred in Hollywood films, won an Olympic medal and made an appearance in WWE matches.

And it’s the latest activity that seems to have caught the MMA pioneer’s eye, as it seems she’s planning a move into wrestling.

Rousey began her professional MMA career after her Olympic judo victories, and had a run of six unbeaten UFC wins.

That’s not to mention her other wins in other leagues and at one point, the judo protege seemed unstoppable.

That was until November of 2015 when she suffered a shock KO at the hands of Holly Holm.

But her woes were not over. Despite the hype surrounding her following fight, she was beaten by Amanda Nunes in just 48 seconds.

Ronda Rousey admitted feeling suicidal after her losses and, clearly concerned for her daughter’s wellbeing, her mum, AnnMaria De Mars – herself a former world judo champion – advised her to retire.

Speaking to TMZ she said:

I would have liked to see her retire a long time ago. Who wants to see their kid get hit?

Cause she’s got a lot of talent in a lot of other things. Movies, writing, producing, she’s really, really smart.

I told her at the beginning when she started. I said: “You’re smart and beautiful – let the stupid people get punched in the face. Sorry stupid people.”

And it seems she has heeded her mother’s words, to a point.

Rousey’s foray into WWE would not be her first, as she appeared at 2014’s SummerSlam where she dropped hints at stepping into the ring.

And step in she did, partnered with The Rock to take down Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

Reports from suggest that at this very event, Rousey laid the foundations for her and her ‘Four Horsewomen’ friends to make an appearance with WWE.

According to this report, WWE pointed Rousey in the direction of Brian Kendrick ‘for training purposes in Southern California’.

So watch this space, Ronda Rousey might step into the ring once again…
