Elon Musk has announced on Twitter that he has contracted Covid-19, claiming to have almost no symptoms so far.
The Tesla and SpaceX chief informed the world on Monday morning, 28 March, stating: "Covid-19 is the virus of Theseus.
"How many gene changes before it’s not Covid-19 anymore?"

Musk has seemingly contracted Covid for a second time, after the 50-year-old previously stating that he 'most likely' had it in 2020.
Two years ago, he reported having minor cold-like symptoms, questioning the veracity of the Covid-19 tests at the time.

"A little up & down. Feels just like a regular cold, but more body achy & cloudy head than coughing/sneezing," the world's richest man replied to a fan who asked about his symptoms back in 2020.
This time around, the symptoms appear to be even milder, possibly indicating that he has contracted a variant strain.
The timing of Musk's announcement on Twitter is ironic to say the least, as he has been publicly teasing his idea of launching a new social media site in recent days.
Over the weekend, the South African tweeted that he is giving 'serious thought' to the idea.
"Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy...What should be done?", Musk added.

Several unsuccessful attempts have been made to create a Twitter alternative over the past 12 months.
Rumble, Parler, Gettr and other services have all staked their claims to become the defacto alternative social networks of choice. Parler was removed from Apple's app store amid allegations that Capitol rioters used the platform to incite violence. It was reinstated in April after improvements were made by the company to better detect and moderate hate speech.
A cornerstone of Musk's frustrations over Twitter appear to concern a 2018 agreement with the Securities and Exchange Commission. According to the CNN, it requires Musk to gain pre-approval from other Tesla executives before he can post tweets about the company.
