Creators of God of War Ragnarök have spoken about the abuse they’ve received from fans, with some sending unsolicited d**k pics to staff.
It had been rumoured that an announcement about the game’s release date would be made yesterday, but when the day came and went some fans were left frustrated, prompting producer Cory Barlog to urge people to exercise patience.
Posting on Twitter, he said: "If it were up to me, I would share all the information when I know about it. But it is not up to me.

"So please, be patient. I promise things will be shared at the earliest possible moment they can be. We make games for you. We get to make games because of you."
Barlog also denied there had been a delay in announcing the release date, telling one follower that it would be revealed when the company was ready.
Not long after Barlog’s tweet, cinematic producer Estelle Tigani took to Twitter to say some vile fans of the game had sent her unsolicited NSFW photos as some sort of grim attempt to get a release date.

Posting on Twitter, she said: “Pro tip: sending me d**k pics asking for the God of War Ragnarok release date will not, in fact, get me to reveal the release date.
“To the people who are doing so, when did that ever work for you?!”
Barlog retweeted Tigani’s post, commenting: “I cannot believe I even have to say this but don’t f**king send d**k pics to anyone on this team, or anyone in this industry for that matter. They are busting their ass to make some[thing] for you to enjoy. Show some f**king respect.”
He also responded directly to the original post saying: “Sorry, Estelle. That is complete f**king s**t behaviour.”

As you can imagine, most gaming fans were quick to condemn the behaviour of the creeps who sent the photos, with one replying: “It’s bloody idiotic behavior like this that hacks me off so much online.”
Another said: “WTF?! People are crazy and mad. It's a game. What the hell? It's ready when it's ready. There's so much other stuff to be mad about in this world. A game is made with passion and should be seen as a positive thing when a game takes some time to make.”
While someone else commented: “I'm so sorry this is happening to you. That's very disrespectful.”
