Remember that time you thought it was funny to set your job to ‘full time playa’ on Facebook – well you might want to head over to your profile and get rid of it.
Apparently, the social media giants have been fiddling about with their settings, and now all of your old jobs and education history are featured right below your profile picture in the ‘intro’ section, reports Metro.
Although it hasn’t changed the privacy settings of anything, it has dug up all of the things that were previously hidden away and forgotten in your profile and stuck them in perhaps the most prominent part of your page.
Take, for example, the absolute state of my editor’s FB page right now:
Which, let’s be honest, is way too much information for a casual Facebook page.
However, never fear, as once you notice the colossal amount of stuff now bulking up your intro slot, you can quickly and easily remove them as you see fit.
Here’s how you do it:
- Click onto the edit bar in the top right corner of your intro box.
- Select and deselect what you want to keep and remove from your intro.
- Click save.
And, voilà, you’re done. Best get to it.
