iPhone users warned over big change coming to all phones with new software update iOS 17

There’s change ahead for us iPhone users and be it small, it is mighty. As in, it’s probably going to mess with everyone’s head when it happens.

When Apple's new software update, iOS 17, drops next month, there’s going to be a couple of changes made to key apps on all iPhones.

And we’re all relatively happy in our ways. Our muscles basically know how to do all the basic, everyday actions without us even having to think.

But with the new update, we might end up doing a completely different action than intended.

So, with iOS 17, which is set to release to the public at some point in mid-September, the iPhone’s phone app will have a series of updates.

Included in this is a new design that will move that sacred, reliable, necessary when we want a dramatic exit, hang up button.

Currently, it sits separately (and clearly) at the bottom of the phone app, below the buttons to add a call or mute or access the keypad.

But iOS 17 will place it at the bottom right of the screen, in a row alongside the other functions – although it will keep its bright red colour

Developers are already able to download the new software update in a beta version after the release in July.

And it’s had some relatively predictable responses from Apple users on social media, who write: “iOS 17 has the FaceTime button where the end call button used to be.

“Muscle memory be damned.”

Another wrote: “Apple is changing where the end call button is and we already hate it.”

Others also pointed out an issue that it’s ‘bad for left-handed peoples’.

However, another wrote: “I’ve been using it and it’s taken a bit of getting used to. Overall it will be a far better location, especially for those with larger devices.”

And others put: “I personally like the new layout a lot better than the previous one.”

With some even saying: “About time, I’ve hanged up on people trying to swipe up to unlock the phone because of the call end at the bottom of the screen.”

Time to retrain those muscles and actually pay attention, I guess.

Apple says iOS 17 will bring ‘new features to enhance the things you do every day', with the likes of the ability to create ‘contact posters’, a ‘more accurate autocorrect’ and ‘StandBy’ mode.
