Elon Musk mocked after revealing why he could never play GTA

X users were quick to respond after Musk shared his thoughts on the upcoming game

Elon Musk might own X, but that definitely doesn't stop people from using it against him.

Much of Musk's social media platform has been packed with news, rumors and speculation about the new GTA VI game following the release of the trailer last night, so it wasn't long before the owner piped up to have his say on the topic.

Unfortunately, however, Musk's decision to get involved in the discussion only opened up a whole new avenue of ridicule for people looking to mock his every move.

The Tesla founder had his say on GTA VI in response to another X user, Dan, who actually works at the social media platform as part of the Data & Analytics team.

Dan's job means he'd have almost certainly seen all the excitement about GTA VI, but he decided to take a different stance by sharing a post saying he hadn't played a single GTA game.

He's probably never watched Game of Thrones or owned an iPhone either, but we won't get into that now.

Anyway, after seeing Dan's post, Musk responded to explain that he'd never cared much for Grand Theft Auto, either.

Elon Musk wasn't alone in his reasoning.

As someone with a pretty big resumé, it would be understandable for Musk to simply explain that he didn't have time for video games.

He has spaceships to launch, and social media platforms to destroy- I mean run. Surely he has more pressing things to do?

But apparently time isn't the reason Musk never got into GTA.

Instead, it's apparently because he couldn't handle living a life of crime - even a fictional one.

Responding to Dan's post, Musk wrote: "Tried, but didn't like doing crime. GTA5 required shooting police officers in the opening scene. Just couldn't do it."

Needless to say, it wasn't long before X users responded to share their thoughts on this explanation.

Elon Musk said he didn't like the crime in GTA.

"Imagine them taking a video game that seriously," one X user wrote, while another joked: "Super Mario required jumping on Goomba's heads in the opening scene. Just couldn't do it."

"Grand theft auto is woke now??? is breaking bad next???," wrote a third.

As it turns out, however, Musk apparently isn't alone in his aversion to the crime in video games.

X user Ian Miles Cheong responded to Musk's post to say he was 'glad shooting cops in Cyberpunk 2077 is completely optional', adding: "Never finished GTA5 either."

It's safe to say the conversation between Musk and Cheong has left people baffled, with one surprised X user concluding: "punk is when you can’t bring yourself to do crime in a video game."
