A new trailer for season two of Netflix’s The Sinner is out and it’s already creeping people out.
When the first season was released, starring Jessica Biel, it was one of Netflix’s most talked about shows. It literally had everyone talking.
In fact, the first episode of season one was so traumatic some viewers could barely get through it.
The show stars Jessica Biel as the main character, a young mother who commits a public crime and the subsequent attempts by an investigation team led by Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) to discover not what she did, but why she did it.
But with Biel’s character arc nicely wrapped at the end of season one an equally compelling lead would be needed to fill her blood-soaked shoes, not an easy feat as Biel received critical acclaim for her portrayal of troubled Cora Tannetti. Her performance earned her a Golden Globe nomination.
According to Variety, Carrie Coon (Fargo, The Leftovers) will be starring in this hotly awaited second season, playing a character by the name of Vera.
Vera appears to be a different sort of character, compared to the traumatised Cora. But, it’s a safe bet she’ll be just as complicated and intriguing.
She’s been described as a:
A formidable, mysterious woman who struggles between upholding the ideals of the community she leads and fulfilling her own desires.
Joining Coon will be Natalie Paul (The Deuce) and Hannah Gross (Mindhunter). Paul will play trainee detective Heather, while Gross will play Heather’s close friend from her high school years.
