It’s looking like The Big Bang Theory may finally be coming to an end after it’s 12th season.
They say all good things must come to an end and it’s looking like that might be true for American sitcom The Big Bang Theory.
Whilst it’s yet to be confirmed it looks like the end is in sight according to cast member Kunal Nayyar, who plays unlucky in love astrophysicist Raj.
Speaking to Digital Spy, in the run up to this month’s premier of season 11, Nayyar said:
I’m not saying it’s the end after season 12, but we know that this incredible, special thing is going to come to an end, and sooner rather than later.
I think all of us [in the cast] are at least beginning to feel a little bit nostalgic about the time we’ve had.
The TBBT star was also wary of being in show that over stays their welcome claiming ‘no-one wants to see an old, fat Raj’
I don’t know if season 12’s going to be the last season – those decisions are not up to me – but I do know for a fact that we have less [episodes to come] than we’ve already had.
This isn’t the first time he’s hinted at the show making a final curtain call. Last year he led fans of the show to believe season 10 would be the end for the group of socially awkward geniuses, but Chuck Lorre’s creation was soon renewed for two more seasons.
While it would be sad when The Big Bang Theory eventually goes off-air we can at least say it had a good run while it lasted. The last few seasons haven’t been exactly great have they?
The Big Bang Theory: The Complete 10th Season is out now on DVD and Blu-ray from today, whilst the new season will air in The States on 25 September. A UK premier date is TBC.
